Film Programmer
I have been programming for film festivals since I began working at the Canadian Film Institute as Festivals Manager in 2018. I program for the International Film Festival of Ottawa and created The Gaze screening series to highlight films by diverse filmmakers. I’ve also volunteered on screening committees and continue to look for more programming opportunities.
For The Gaze, I have programmed films like Susanne Heinrich’s Aren’t You Happy? and Amanda Nell Eu’s Tiger Stripes and talked with filmmakers like Rebecca Shoptaw and film critics like Maia Wyman (Broey Deschanel).
I’m occasionally on the radio, filling in for a film columnist on CBC Radio. I have hosted talks, interviews, and Q&As with filmmakers online and in person. I’ve presented four panels about women in film and media at Ottawa Comiccon.
I hosted the Rated F film podcast and The Doctor’s Companions: A Doctor Who Rewatch Podcast from 2015 to 2021. I’ve written a lot about movies and TV on my blog and newsletters over the years.
You can hire me to program, write, and speak about film. I do all of those things very well.
