This week was our first theme week. The theme was Mexico, in honor of Cinco de Mayo, which was May 5th, the first day of our week.
La Photo Cabine of the Day
Today I watched Betty White on SNL, went grocery shopping, had a cheezburger, worked on blue/green yarn glasses, did some organizing of ideas on the computer, ripped out magazine pictures for my closet door windows (but now I'm thinking newspaper might also look cool and more neutral for photo backgrounds), had Degrassi Junior High on the whole day, worked on blog posts, did the dishes, started some disco glasses, had a shower, worked on a Runaway Girls idea (I'm excited if we can make it happen), and now I'm going to attempt to get into bed around midnight...
La Photo Cabine of the Day
I love these frames! Omgzzzzzzz!
I bought some sunglasses from Dollarama today to see what I could do with them. As in, pop the lenses out and do yarn frames or keep the lenses in and decorate another way. I thought these were pretty awesome sunglasses for a dollar, but when I popped the lenses out I saw how freaking cute they really are! I love weird glasses! As I mentioned before, I have a face for glasses, so I love wearing any type of frames. And I've recently decided that because of this I need to start collecting all sorts of different frames. So, I'm keeping these for myself just in case I can't get another pair from Dollarama to decorate (I'm thinking yarn would be cutest) but I am definitely making another trip to Dollarama soon for lots more cheap sunnies! Dollarama definitely let me down by not having packs of small rhinestones (lots of kits with multiple sizes, but I just need the small size) but the discovery of these frames alone makes up for it.
I love you forever, Dollarama!
10 Things I Love Sunday- Er... Monday
I was at my parents' house this weekend (for Mother's Day) and the combination of my shitty Windows laptop (I'm a Mac girl) and their dial-up internet made editing this post (so many pictures) a nightmare. So, I just quit before I truly fucked it up and just waited til I got home to finish it.
1. Why Don't You Love Me by Beyoncé Music Video
I love this song and the video is so cute! It's all old school 50's housewife cute outfits and comical little skits. As well as Beyoncé just being sexy.
2. Courtney Milne Photography
My parents have a couple of his books, which is where I first saw his work. I always love looking through the books. Nature is so beautiful and amazing.
3. Crows
I love crows. They're one of my favorite animals. I think they're beautiful and I love their noise. Did you know you can teach them to talk like parrots can? When I'm an old lady I'll have a pet crow that will sit on my shoulder and say rude things to people. Yes, I will be the crazy old lady in a big scary house that the neighborhood children call a witch.
4. "I got class like a '57 Cadillac"
(FYI: Smoking isn't classy anymore. Once upon a time when we didn't know better, sure, but now we know better. It's disgusting.)
5. A Good Question
5. A Good Question
6. Machete Trailer
7. Thoughtful Graffiti
8. Zoe Kazan
I just think she's really cute. I really want to see her movie The Exploding Girl. Watch her be all cute and silly in this video for NylonTV.
9. "I'm jealous of your cigarette and how you wanna suck on it."
Why do all the hottest boys smoke? The last two boys I really liked were smokers.
10. COCKS!
La Photo Cabine of the Day
I didn't have anything to show off today, so I just made faces. My tongue is blue from eating sour candies left over from the Dora piñata massacre.
I spent today organizing my front closet which is basically storage. I must be really good at compacting because I now have three empty boxes, but I didn't throw that much away. Organizing makes me feel soooo good. I'm also in the midst of changing all of the stuff on my walls. I can't decide between just putting tons of stuff up to fill them up, or to be more selective and only put up the best stuff and keep themes together. Right now I have one wall of just my art.
I could keep writing about how I'm planning on organizing everything in my apartment, but I know that that is only exciting to me.
I'm going to try to get into bed before 1am tonight because my parents are coming to pick me up "early" tomorrow morning. I thought it'd be nice to go visit them for the weekend since Sunday is Mother's Day. Hopefully while I'm there I can go into town for some shopping (cheap craft supplies from Dollarama!) and get my mom some flowers and/or a gift. Oh, that reminds me I have to make her card tonight. So maybe bed at 1:30am...
Fashion Friday: Summer Inspiration
La Photo Cabine of the Day
I was going to do it four times with my four different glasses (and photoshop one of each together) to show how I look good in any kind of glasses frames, but I decided I liked all of these pics and photoshopping defeats the purpose of this crazy online french photo booth.
But seriously, I challenge you to find a pair of glasses or sunnies that do not look good on me. I just have a face for glasses. I always say it's a shame I'm the only one in my family (and most of my extended family) that doesn't need glasses. And then my friends who have to wear glasses say "Don't you dare wish that! Having to wear glasses sucks! You are so lucky you can see perfectly without help!" So, I just content myself with wearing "fake" glasses.
These are my Granny/Harry Potter (I even have a forehead scar to match his) glasses. I mean, seriously unflattering glasses on anyone else, but on me they manage to look cute. I don't mean to be conceited. It's just a fact. It's just my face.
I got these from an optometrist. I always loved going to this guy's shop because it was crazy awesome inside and also I love trying on frames. The uglier the better. I tried these on and we were all laughing at them and he said "You know what? I've had those forever, no one is ever going to buy them. You can have them." Eighty dollar frames for free, baby.
Amazingly ugly glasses and a great memory.

Oh, I feel I should explain the "La Photo Cabine of the Day" thing. Ever since I discovered La Photo Cabine, I've tried taking a set of photos with it everyday. I spend a lot of time at my computer every day, so taking a few snapshots with my iSight everyday will probably make a pretty accurate account of how I look/what I do every day. I haven't been using La Photo Cabine a lot lately, but I'm going to start making an effort to do one everyday. And post it here for you to see. Along with a little description of the photos and what I'm doing that day. It's an easy and interesting way to keep a sort of photo journal for myself. Definitely easier and more fun than using my digital camera or just Photo Booth to take a photo of myself everyday.

Monthly Movie Marathon: Hayao Miyazaki
This is a new blog feature I'm going to be doing. Every month I'll compile a list of a few movies of a theme that I think you should watch.
Hayao Miyazaki is a Japanese writer & director of animated movies. He's known as "The Japanese Walt Disney." Although he does make a lot of animated movies like Disney, I think Miyazaki's movies are much different. Disney movies are more for entertainment. Miyazaki movies always have a really deep moral to the story. His movies are so much more than entertainment. They are very complex and have political or ecological themes. His style might seem a little weird at first, it was to me, but then I fell in love with the magical, fantastical stories and the young characters.
I was going to write my own little opinion blurb about each movie, but I love them all, so I don't know what to say different about each of them. The trailers give you a pretty good feel for the movies. They're all similar style, visually and story-wise, so if you like any of them, you'll probably like all of them.
(Don't be put off by the poor quality of some of the trailers. The movies are all very good quality and available with English dubbing.)
Castle in the Sky (1986)
My Neighbor Totoro (1988)
Kiki's Delivery Service (1989)
Princess Mononoke (1997)
Spirited Away (2001)
Howl's Moving Castle (2004)
Ponyo (2008)

I hope you all have the opportunity to see all of these amazing movies this month. When you watch them, let me know what you think!
P.S. I finally finished adding all of my movies and tv shows to My Movies list on IMDb.com. You can now check out all of my movies I own if you're interested. I also thought it would be helpful having my movie list on the internet so my friends can browse my movies and decide what they want to watch before we hang out to watch movies.

My 20.5 Birthday!
It's my half-birthday today! Yup, I'm twenty and a half now. So, I thought today would be a good time to review my 20 Things to Do Before I Turn 21 list to see how I'm doing with those goals.
1. Sell art, crafts, clothes, etc. on Etsy
I'm getting closer to this goal. I've been making stuff and sketching ideas. Once I feel I have enough products, I'll open my Etsy store.
2.Finish draft of The Little Pink Book
I've decided to cross out this goal. It's no longer a life goal for me to write The Little Pink Book. I just really have no business writing a book of advice. I have no life experience to draw from. Maybe, someday I will but for now it's not a priority.
I think there will be a Little Pink Book in my Pixie comic, though.
3. Road trip
So far, I have made no plans for this. Kim and I will probably want to go camping this summer, though. So, maybe I can convince Kim we should go somewhere that would require a bit of a journey. I've been all over this country camping with my family, so I know good places to go and where to stay along the way.
4. Save money
Besides a hidden stash of cash I add to once in a while, I have no money saved. I'm working on getting a job, though, so once I'm making money I can save money.
5. Read the Bible
I haven't read any of the Bible since before I made this list. I've just had too many novels to read, and I still do. So, I probably won't read the whole Bible before I'm 21, but it's something I'll be working at.
6. Learn French
I still haven't touched the French book & CD I bought in September. Maybe now that school is done, I'll feel like learning something else. I just never seem to have the patience to sit down and put in the CD and do a lesson.
7. Have a website
I'm not sure if this goal is still necessary. This blog is my main site that links to everything else I do online. Maybe before I'm 21, I'll feel it necessary to have a TishChambers.com, but we'll see.
8. Create my own fragrance
Haven't done this yet. Someday I'll go to The Body Shop or somewhere and play with fragrances.
9. Sell cakes
This is one goal I'm actually about to start! Kim and I are going into business selling cakes and teaching cake decorating classes. We're still in the planning stage, but it's something we're definitely going to do soon. We need to get ourselves organized and start getting the word out.
10. Make friends
I definitely did not make a single friend at school this year. I was friendly and chatted with people in class, but I definitely did not make any friends. Not even on Facebook. I'm fine with that, most of those girls were annoying.
However, I'd say that I did make some friends. I've been hanging out with Kim's brother Neil. He used to be just Kim's brother, but now I'd say we're actually friends on our own. And I'd say Tina (Kim's mom's friend) and I are friends. I love her because when she's drunk she tells me how much she loves me and how beautiful I am. Plus she's just crazy and fun. And then there's Kim's boyfriend, Dave, and Neil's friends Steph & Holly that I've hung out with. I guess I'm kinda friends/friendly with them.
I've made friends online! I met Re & Marcia when they joined Runaway Girls. And I've sort of rekindled some high school friendships with the girls that joined Runaway Girls. And I hung out with Jess & Monica for Valentine's Day.
The point is that I hang out with more people than just Kim now, so that's a big improvement.
11. Have all-nighter in Kemptville
I haven't done this yet, because it's a Summer activity. This will definitely happen. Hopefully when Jason comes to visit from Victoria. He's the mostest funnest. We'd have so much fun running around Kemptville all night.
12. Enter every contest/draw
I've been entering all the giveaways on my favorite blogs lately. The more I enter the more I can win!
13. “No rules, no fear.” No excuses!
I am full of excuses and fear. I really need to work on this.
14. Finish a script
I haven't worked on any of my movie ideas. Just haven't been in a writing mood.
15. Write a story
Like I said, haven't been feeling like writing. I don't know if I'll actually do this one. I suck at creative writing. Although, I am working on my Pixie comic. That's a story. So maybe I'll allow that to count as this goal.
16. Make music
I just started playing my guitar again a few weeks ago. I haven't gotten it out in about two years. It feels so good to be making music again. I've missed it. I haven't been writing anything original. I've just been learning new songs and generally playing around with it.
17.Get a pet
Definitely not doing this one. First of all; a pet costs money, which I don't have. Secondly; the plant Kim gave me lasted about a week before it died. I should not be allowed to take care of other living things. I can barely take care of myself most of the time.
18. Get a job
I've been handing out resumés this week! Hopefully I'll have one soon!
19. Lose 20 pounds
Ha ha ha ha. Yeah, right.
20. Get involved with a charity
Not yet. And I have no ideas besides maybe joining Monica sometime when she goes to a protest or something. She's vegan like me and always getting involved with stuff.

Fashion Friday: Last Day of School
I didn't have time to take pictures of a new outfit this week because I've been busy finishing up school stuff and handing out resumés. So, here's an old outfit photo.
Since tomorrow is my last day of school ever, I thought I'd share this photo I took of my outfit on my last day of film school two years ago.

Coming Attractions
There are a lot of impressive looking movies coming out this summer. Here are some I'm looking forward to seeing.
Iron Man 2
I loved Iron Man, so I am really excited to see the sequel. Robert Downey Jr., action, comedy, and Scarlett Johansson in a tight leather suit. Oh, I'm excited.
Beastly
I love interpretations of fairy tales. I think this has the possibility of being a little too cheesey with the predictable story line. But I also think it has the potential to be a really interesting, dark movie. I think I'll like it.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World
This looks so much fun! I love the combination of live-action with comic book "POW!"s and "WHACK!"s. Michael Cera looks like he's actually doing something a little different from his same old awkward dead pan comedy. Like he's actually a different character, not just Michael Cera. I think this movie will be a really funny story told in a really unique way that we've never seen before.
Happiness Runs
I knew I would like this movie as soon as I saw the poster for it. Visually, I loved the look and the girl in the fairy wings. I like stories that uncover parts of a story you thought you knew. Like the trailer says, they were never supposed to grow up. I think it's like a utopia-gone-wrong story. Characters rebelling against their society, challenging rules. I'm interested to see more of their lives and see how it all ends.
The Last Airbender
A different kind of movie for M. Night Shyamalan. This looks like an amazing, dark, fantasy, adventure. I am so ready to get into this world of the four element nations and their wars. Not to mention I'm looking forward to seeing Jackson Rathbone in something different.

My Life Lately in iPhone Photos
It's been a long time since I posted some baking class photos. So, here is my life in iPhone photos of the past couple months...
Drawing in seeds in baking class.
Stretching out the dough to make strudel.
My Hooters bottle holder.

I haven't taken any baking class picture lately because they have a really strict cell phone policy at the college. If you even touch your phone in a class, the teacher will take it away. And they'll probably give it back at the end of class. But technically, the rule is if you use your cell phone in class they take it away and you get expelled forever. Ridiculous. So, that's why I haven't been whipping out my phone to snap some pics discreetly. But school's over now, so no more baking class pictures anyway. I'll be sure to take pictures whenever I bake at home, though.
Music Monday: Cheer Up!
If you're ever feeling low, I hope these songs will give you some hope and cheering up. They always make me feel better even when I don't want to.

So what if it hurts me?
So what if I break down?
So what if this world just throws me off the edge
My feet run out of ground
I gotta find my place
I wanna hear my sound
Don't care about all the pain in front of me
Cause I'm just trying to be happy
Just wanna be happy
Face Up : Lights
The times you don't want to wake up
'Cause in your sleep it's never over when you give up
The sun is always going to rise up
You need to get up, gotta keep your head up
Look at the people all around you
The way you feel is something everybody goes through
Dark out, but you still gotta light up
You need to wake up, gotta keep your face up
Nineteen Stars : Meg & Dia
Don't tell me.
You're done for.
I don't need to hear.
You're done for.
You can tell me what you are running from.
I need you.
More than you need you.
Stay awake.
Stay awake survive.
I've got nineteen stars that I.
Gave your name.
Tonight.
I wanna scream.
Wanna scream your name.
Star light, star bright, can save.
You're my wish tonight.
Walking on Sunshine : Aly & AJ
Do I even need to write any lyrics? You just cannot be unhappy listening to this song. And this cover is extra fun.
Lions! : Lights
Be steady on your feet,
No matter the trouble you meet
Lions make you brave,
Giants give you faith,
Death is a charade.
You don't have to feel safe to feel unafraid.
See the Sun : Dido
And you probably don't want to hear tomorrow's another day
Well I promise you you'll see the sun again
And you're asking me why pain's the only way to happiness
And I promise you you'll see the sun again
Because I Can : Katy Rose
I keep on dreaming because I can
Even though my eyes don't close
I keep on tripping because its free
To a place I only know
I keep on dreaming because I can
Even though my eyes don't close
I keep on slipping out of this life
This is sure to cheer you up even if you're not down.
[Skip ahead to 0:30 to get straight to the song.]
[From Season 4, Episode 8 of Skins.]
some days are disasters
that you wish could just end.
other days are bastards
just like a bad boyfriend.
but it makes me feel much worse than this
to see a face masked with a frown.
i'm not telling you to smile
but don't be down.
don't be down, my friend.
don't do your wrist any harm.
you don't belong on a funny farm.
and i'd rather see you in a party dress
than in a hospital gown.
i'm not telling you to smile
but don't be down.
Pixie
For Runaway Girls Week Seven, our challenge was to create ourselves as a superhero. My superhero (more like just a cartoon character) was Pixie. She's basically all the cute aspects of my look, personality & life. She has bright red hair, which I used to have. Her superpower is her movie knowledge and ability to recreate scenes from movies. Her weapons are cupcakes. Her sidekick is Pinkberry, my toy dog. Her turbo booster is TaB Energy, which I am obsessed with.
I had the idea to create a cartoon version of myself before I did this challenge. This was my first sketch I did.
After that sketch and the challenge of coming up with her superpowers, sidekick, weapons, etc. I started considering more seriously creating a comic starring the character Pixie. I've never been into drawing cartoons, so I knew I'd have to practice drawing and come up with my own cartoon/comic drawing style. I did some research looking at different drawing styles. I really liked manga/anime but not the eyes. So, this is what I came up with.
I think she's really cute and I'm excited to start drawing her more in different poses, with different facial expressions, etc.
My goal is to start doing a comic. I also might turn the comic images into a video (basically just a slide show of the comic frames) and give the characters voices, put in sound effects, and music.
So, what will this comic be about? I have some ideas for the general story line, but no specific adventures yet.
I think that Pixie will be on a quest to find the source of FaB (what I've renamed TaB Energy) because Pixie survives on it and her supplies are running out. She will go through many different lands (Possibly known fictional worlds like Oz, Wonderland, Narnia, etc.) and meet lots of friendly and not-so-friendly characters on her travels. I think I need one major villain/nemesis for Pixie to be constantly running into and running away from. Perhaps someone who is also after FaB or wants to destroy it. Pixie will ride a scooter and her silent sidekick, Pinkberry, will ride in the basket.
I want to incorporate The Little Pink Book into the comic somehow. Maybe Pixie has it and it's like her guide that she consults for help. Maybe that's what the villain wants. Or maybe The Little Pink Book is what Pixie is searching for instead of FaB.
Pixie will have cupcakes as weapons, but they won't all be traditional weapons. Some will be fun things like Disco Cupcakes. When she throws them, they explode glitter everywhere and everything the glitter touches turns to disco. So if she threw it into a group of bad guys, disco music would start playing, their outfits would change to disco and they would all start dancing disco. I don't want Pixie to be violent, so her weapons would be funny things like that to distract her enemies rather than harm them.
Those are just some of my ideas. Let me know what you think! I want the comic to be cute and funny, which will probably be hard for me because Pixie is based on so many personal things. I need to make her relatable to more people.
There are a lot of things inspiring the character of Pixie and her world, so I will be posting some "Pixie Inspiration" posts in the next few weeks. So you will be able to see how Pixie and her story develop.

It's not very good, I know. I drew it lying in bed so my perspective was a little off.
And then I did another sketch, and colored it with crayons, for my Runaway Girls challenge.
I really didn't mean for her to look so angry. I was just trying to draw eyes like Bratz but I guess I did them a little slanted. And then I did another sketch, and colored it with crayons, for my Runaway Girls challenge.

10 Things I Love Sunday
1. Whatever You Like by Anya Marina Music Video
I thought the store was really cute until I realized is was a SEX store. Actually, I still think it's cute. I was surprised and happy to see the adorable Justin Kirk (Andy from Weeds) in the video. I love sweet, mellow covers of hip hop songs. Like Hot in Herre by Jenny Owen Youngs.
2. Tree Covered Paths
They're so magical, like they must lead to another world.
3. ZooBorns
"The Newest and Cutest Exotic Baby Animals from Zoos and Aquariums Around the World!"
AKA: Cuteness Overload. Guaranteed to brighten up your day.
4. This Desk & Shelves
I am definitely going to do something like this someday.
5. QI
My new favorite British television show. It's edutainment! You'll actually learn a lot of interesting facts while laughing your ass off at the comedian guests.
Here's one episode to get you started. Watch the rest of this series here.
6. Inspirational Words
7. Unblock Me for the iPhone
I'm totally addicted to this game. I always loved that Traffic Jam game, and this is the same thing. Except you don't have to set up a new puzzle for yourself every time. If you don't know this game; the point is to move the blocks around until you can slide the red block out the gap. They only move in a straight line (whichever way they're lengthwise.) It can be very tricky and take some strategic thought. Sometimes I get it in like 10 seconds, but sometimes it takes me a couple minutes. I'm on puzzle 224 out of 400 beginner puzzles. There are also intermediate and expert levels. A pretty good deal for a free game.
8. Beautiful Things Made from Paper
9. Promise Tangeman's Wedding
Promise Tangeman is an artist/designer. She posted pictures of her wedding album on her blog. Besides that it was in a church and there were about a million people there, I would love a wedding like this. (Not that I really want a wedding at all.) And I love the photos and poses.
10. Hot Air Balloons
I really want to go in one someday.

The Bible Game
Once upon a time I found this really old trivia game called The Bible Game in my house. My friends and I started playing it as a laugh. (I explain the story more in the video.) So, a while ago my friends/family and I got together to play The Bible Game and The Bible Game on PS2. And we were drunk. So we're really funny. So watch. And laugh. Ha ha ha. Like that.
