Tish, Juliana, and Linda talk about Season 5, Episode 4 “The Time of Angels” and Episode 5 “Flesh and Stone”. We struggle to understand all the new Weeping Angel rules and try to keep track of all the foreshadowing. And we start another new drinking game; every time Tish says she loves River Song.

One thing that has become clear about my taste in movies, as I've been excessively talking about movies for In the Movies... for over a year now, is that I am all about the visuals. I described my favorite movies for my birthday episode of the podcast in terms of what they look like and I love to rewatch movies that I know have sub-par stories but are just so pretty. So, you can only imagine my excitement when the trailers, ads, and marketing for The Huntsman: Winter's War started to appear in my Internet realm.
Read MoreTish, Juliana, and Linda talk about Season 5, Episode 2 “The Beast Below” and Episode 3 “Victory of the Daleks”. We've got two things The Doctor just can't stay away from; the Queen of England and the Daleks. After we get bluntly hit in the face repeatedly with the parallels between the star whale and The Doctor, we wonder how the little gooey Daleks built themselves new candy-coated tanks. And don't forget to zoom in on the cracks, so we don't miss them.

Tish and Juliana got drunk watching The Gnome-Mobile and then talked about it. Find out what we love (animatronic animals) and hate (women in only stereotypical roles) about this movie, when to drink, and what Tish did with her possessed gnome.
Read MoreTish, Juliana, Linda, and special guest, Phil, talk about Season 5, Episode 1 “The Eleventh Hour”. Find out which of us want to be a Timelord, which of us would rather be a companion, and which of us wants to be a puppy thief. Find out how we all feel about the new Doctor and then get started on this season's drinking game: drink every time Tish says she loves Matt Smith/Eleven.
Who News
Tish and Juliana talk about Spirited Away and Hayao Miyazaki's female heroes. Spirited Away was the first anime movie for a lot of Western people, including us, and remains one of our favorites of the genre. Along with Chihiro/Sen, Lin, and even Yobaba, we talk about all of the inspiring, complete, complex, interesting female characters in Studio Ghibli movies.

Tish, Juliana, and Linda talk about the terrible, made-for-TV, so-90's-it-hurts Doctor Who movie. We have questions from the first line spoken, and they only get more ridiculous as the movie goes on. What actually is the Eye of Harmony? Is The Doctor half human? Why do his two hearts show up on an x-ray? Why does he kiss Ryan Atwood's mom? We prescribe a large amount of alcohol to help you take in this movie.

If you could be the companion in any #DoctorWho episode, what episode would you choose?

Tish, Juliana, and Linda talk about The End of Time: Part One and The End of Time: Part Two. It's an emotional roller coaster of a finale. There's so much sorrow and fear, but also laughter and joy. There's a lot of confusion as we get through the chaos that is The Master, Gallifrey, Wilf, Donna, The Doctor, green porcupines, and weirdly horny father-daughter team... And before we can truly mourn the loss of our beloved Ten, we can't help but talk about all that is to come with Eleven and Moffat at the helm.

Would you rather be The Doctor (a Timelord) or The Doctor’s companion?

It's the beginning of the end! This week we tackle those three specials that Tennant did after season 4, to have some more adventures before the real big finale. (Hold back you tears, we'll get to that later.)
We continue the Marvel & DC theme to my content and answer the question of which Marvel or DC character we'd like to see pair up with The Doctor, with some answers that have us wishing for some crossover comics!
We love two out of three of the episodes, so that's pretty good odds! We get through our least favorite Christmas special so we can talk about our favorite coulda/shoulda-been-companion, Lady Christina de Souza, and finish up with the creepy water infestation on Mars, where The Doctor loses his damn mind! We track The Doctor's descent into madness throughout these episodes to prepare ourselves for the big finale.

We are very excited to have our very first guest on the podcast! Our friend Greg, the biggest comic book nerd we know, graced us with his presence and blessed us with much knowledge of the Marvel and DC universes that we didn't know from only watching the movies. If you're like us and love the movies but haven't read the comics, you will love learning more about the characters and storylines you know and some you don't know (yet). We covered Marvel and DC's upcoming movies and TV shows, women in film & comics, and just had a blast talking about favorite characters and movies.

Everyone's back! Rose, Mickey, Jackie, Jack, Sarah Jane, Martha, and Harriet Jones (Former Prime Minister)! Jack brings Torchwood (the institute and the show) and Sarah Jane brings her son, Mr. Smith, and K-9 (from her show, which none of us have watched). The gang's all here to help bring The Doctor one second out-of-sync with the rest of the universe to find the Earth, Davros, and the Daleks. Things are a bit dangerous for a while, but then The DoctorDonna is created and saves the day!
The companions all go off to their happy endings. Well, most of them. (RIP Harriet Jones, Former Prime Minister) Rose's happy ending is bittersweet as she says goodbye to The Doctor but gets to live happily ever after with her own human-ish Doctor in her parallel universe. Donna, however, gets the most tragic end. No, she doesn't die or get dropped off in a parallel world to live out her life. She gets to keep living... as just Donna. Donna without The Doctor. Donna without self-esteem or perspective or an adventurous spirit... She has to forget everything about The Doctor and their adventures and being "the most important person in the whole of creation" and go back to being "just a temp" Donna. The most tragic ending.

Welcome to our first episode of 'This Week In the Movies'! We've extracted our recently watched/trailers/news segment from the beginning of each podcast and given it its own episodes! Between our regular (and irregular) episodes, you can keep up to date on what we've been watching, what we're looking forward to, and what's actually going on
in the movies
lately. That means our episodes will get straight into their topic with no small talk, just movie talk!
This first episode is a littler longer than we hope they will be, since we had quite a few things saved up we wanted to mention, future episodes should be under 20mins. (I say that, but, clearly, we can
talk
...)

Allons-y to one of my favorite episodes! It's molto bene! I love the suspense, mystery, fear, creepiness, and show of human nature in Midnight. I think it's a brilliant episode with everything that's great about Doctor Who (except the spectacular visuals, I mean they're on a bus the whole time). Linda and Juliana are not so enthusiastic about its brilliance, but we all had a great time discussing it. And then we were glad to see plenty of Donna in the next episode, but found it so depressing! What a rough world it would be without The Doctor! What a great episode to show how incredible Donna Noble is, even without The Doctor. She's so smart and brave! This was a great podcast episode, so have a listen and let us know what you think about these episodes! And how sad are you already thinking about what comes next?!

You'll know from listen to our podcast that Juliana and I don't put much weight to film awards. We're more of the thinking that movies are art and art is too subjective and personal to be label "good" or "bad" or ranked or rated. Not that we don't acknowledge the vast amounts and variety of technical work that goes into making films. Like in the case of
Carol
, we could see that the movie was very well made in nearly every aspect, but we just weren't drawn into the story and the characters. "Technically good" does not mean everyone will enjoy it.
Despite our history of seeing very few Oscar-winning movies and refusing to give movies a quantitative rating, we felt we couldn't let this year's awards season go by unmentioned. We wanted to focus mostly on the Oscars, since it is the biggest deal in both the industry and the public's eyes. And because of that, its problems like #OscarsSoWhite (for the second year in a row) and lack of women and LGBT recognition are also big deals.
So, listen up as we discuss the Oscars past & present, who's voting for the Oscars, and how people of color, women, and the LGBT community fair at the awards, and in the industry.

No technical difficulties for this episode! And good, thing, too, because Juliana loves this two-parter so much there's no way she'd let the podcast episode go. Although, maybe she wouldn't have minded having to do this one again since she loves it so much. I love it, too! It's a great Moffat story about scary things in the dark and, most excitedly, the first appearance of my beloved River Song!
Aside from just loving the fun and danger of the story, we talk about River's and The Doctor's timeline(s), and wonder what River's cyber afterlife would really be like. I also have a slightly inappropriate guess at what the "only time [The Doctor] could" tell River his name. What do you think it is?
At the top of the episode, we answer the question of which Doctor we'd like to see have more adventures with River. Juliana and I are pretty sold on Ten, Linda's not sure, but we all agree that River and Nine would probably just hate each other! And our question for you to answer when we talk about the season finale with the Daleks and their creator, Davros, is; Who do you think is The Doctor's greatest enemy? Ooooh.....

I think the drinking game speaks for itself. Do not attempt to watch this movie sober. Happy Belated Valentine's Day!
Drink Every Time...
Anastasia bites her lips.
Someone says “Laters, baby.”
Christian says, “That’s not what I do” or “I don’t make love” or “I don’t do romance” or any variation thereof
Christian is wearing tight jeans without a shirt, while Anastasia is fully naked
Anastasia’s eyes are covered by a hand, mask or improvised blindfold
Cunnilingus is implied but not explicitly performed
Female orgasm is implied but not explicitly denoted
You find yourself depressingly unaroused during an S&M sex scene.
A spank is administered
There's a weird closeup of hands
Christian appears out of thin air
Christian could be confused for a serial killer
Christian says a line that’s meant to be serious or sexy but actually just makes you burst out laughing
You see pubic hair
Ana and Christian refer to each other “Mr. Grey” and “Ms. Steele”
Christian tells her to eat, etc.
We added...
Ana speaks above a whisper
It reminds you of Twilight
For every movie...
An obvious cliché/overdone trope/lazy storytelling
(ie. She trips to show she's a mess, emotional moment in the rain)
