How to Be

This movie may just be the cure to your Robert Pattinson obsession. He is the total opposite of Edward Cullen in this movie. His hair is too long, he’s a loser, he’s pathetic, he’s stupid, he can’t sing well (although I know Robert actually can), he’s insecure, he’s just a big pathetic insecure loser. But that’s the point of the movie. He hires a self-help guru to live with him and help him make his life not so pathetic. The movie really isn’t funny or clever or anything. Pretty dull.

Tuesdays with Tish - Episode One - Sept. 29th

My first episode of my new YouTube series Tuesdays with Tish! I'm so excited! I haven't made a video in a long time so I am super excited for all my friends to see it!

I got the idea for the format from re-watching the YouTube series I did in high school with my friends called There's Something About Mondays. I just took all the things we did on that show and did them myself, my way. This is only the first episode, it will only get better so stay tuned!

Camille

Very odd movie. Straddles the line between a comedy about a girl who dies but doesn’t really and her body is decaying like in Death Becomes Her and a very serious movie about death and love and life. Maybe I was just expecting a comedy and that’s why I was confused. It’s an interesting, cute movie. Her hair falls out (because she’s dead) and she wears a bright red wig the rest of the movie which made me totally jealous because I miss having bright red hair. I’m a big Sienna Miller fan and this movie has very little cheesiness so I liked it.

Addie and Mike's Wedding

My best friend Addie got married to her love Mike on August 29th.

I painted this series of paintings for them as a wedding present.

Kim and I made the wedding cake and cupcakes. It’s the most beautiful thing we’ve ever made and we’re so proud of ourselves.

It was a lot of work and a wonderful day. I'm so happy for them.

Garden Party

This movie wasn’t what I was expecting from the description. I expected it to be more hardcore, but it was pretty mild. It’s a few different stories of people in LA and they all get connected somehow. There’s sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll. It doesn’t have any storylines to really pull you in, it’s all very mild drama. Slightly interesting. There’s a really cute boy, that was about the best part. The trailer pretty much shows the entire plot, there's not much.

Adventureland

Despite what the trailer had me believe, this movie is not very funny. There are some funny parts but mostly is a pretty serious story about college kids and their problems. Jesse Eisenberg reminds me of Micheal Cera and Simon Amstell. Kristen Stewart is… well, all I have to say is Kristen Stewart and you’ll know what she’s like in this movie if you’ve seen her in anything else because she is the exact same in all her movies. That girl has no emotions and the only thing that makes her stand out is her awkward stuttering thing she does while she runs her fingers through her hair awkwardly. She’s just always an awkward looking person. Can you tell I’m not a fan? Despite Kristen Stewart being Kristen Stewart, it’s a good movie about that unsure post-high school/college phase of life.

Gossip Girl Season 3 Premiere

I'm late posting this, but here it is anyway...

The kids of the Upper East Side go to college! Somehow most of them ended up going to college in the city. How convenient for Gossip Girl…

Thoughts
Oh, Chuckles, back to your old tricks.
Oh, S, back to your old ways.
Where is Lily?
Cut your hair, Dan.
I like Chuck and Blair’s little game, but it can’t last long.
More lies, Serena? You’re going to get tangled up in that web you’re weaving.
Oh, Natey, rebellion doesn’t suit you.
Vanessa’s extensions look nasty.
Blair’s dress looks like a sea foam green 80’s bridesmaid monstrosity.
Carter’s a creep.
Where’s Georgie?
The whole adopted son storyline is so lame.
Ooh, I like Chuck and Blair’s new game.
Poor little rich girl wants her daddy’s attention, pathetic.

I'm getting bored with Gossip Girl. I think it's just too high school for me. All these high school shows with so much drama are just so ridiculous they aren't enjoyable to me. They just don't make any sense.

Repo! The Genetic Opera

The difference between a musical and an opera: musicals have dialogue and songs, operas only have songs. This movie is a rock opera. Not all the music was the greatest, but for the most part it was pretty good. Some songs are even catchy enough that I would listen to them on their own. The futuristic storyline is interesting. Alexa Vega really shines. The brothers seemed really over-acted, but maybe that’s how they wanted them to act. I admire Paris Hilton for many reasons, but her acting is not one of them. She always seems awkward, like she doesn’t know what to do with herself. Her singing is decent, though.

St. Trinian's

This movie is a good laugh. It’s really cute and silly. It's British, so of course I love it. It's based on the old St. Trinian's movies about girls at a boarding school. All the girls are really pretty and good actresses. Mischa Barton’s accent was almost non-existent it was so bad. I was disappointed that they didn’t show Rupert Everett and Colin Firth kiss. Maybe it would have given the movie a higher rating if it had a man-on-man kiss, even if one man is playing a female character.

Coraline Collector's Edition DVD

I love Coraline so much! I saw it in theatres but I really wish I saw it in 3D. So I was really excited when I heard they were releasing a DVD in 3D. As much as I love the movie, the old-school 3D (one eye red, one eye green) really doesn’t look so good. At the beginning of the movie it warns you that it may take about 5 minutes for your eyes to adjust to the 3D. I think it took longer than that and even when the 3D seemed to be working, it took the color out of the movie. Only the color blue really stood out. It’s not a very colorful movie in most parts, but it was definitely dull. There’s no part of the movie that’s really amazing-omg-gotta-see-that-in-3D-right-in-your-face. So, although it was interesting to watch it in 3D at home, I probably won’t ever watch it in 3D again. It’s much more enjoyable in its natural state.

The DVD also includes a few behind-the-scenes features, which I found really interesting. Claymation animation is so complex and takes so long. It’s amazing that people have the patience to do that.
